The Law Society of Singapore has set a date for an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to discuss its recent clash with lawyer M. Ravi.

The Straits Times understands that it will be held on Sept 24 at the Supreme Court auditorium.

This comes after 51 members from the society filed a motion on Aug 24 for an EGM to seek clarification on the clash between one of its officials, Mr Wong Siew Hong, and Mr Ravi.

Under the rules of the Legal Profession Act, once a motion has been filed, the Law Society must hold an EGM within 30 days. If the society fails to do so, members have the power to call for a meeting within two months on their own.
