Law minister has 'frank discussion' on LGBT issues

Law Minister K. Shanmugam yesterday met two groups of people to discuss LGBT issues, Mr Shanmugam posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday night.
He wrote that he had met with a group of people who had emailed him, in response to his meeting with activists from the lesbian group Sayoni last November. He had also met with a church group.
"We had a frank discussion, " he said about the meeting.
"They were concerned about what they saw as being the consequences to our society, if LGBT rights were recognised to a greater extent," the Law Minister wrote. He added that these groups had explained their view points with considerable conviction."
