A $189.8 million contract for the construction of new tunnels along the Thomson MRT Line has been awarded to a Japanese contractor, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced on Friday.
The civil contract, won by Shimizu Corporation, covers the building of tunnels from Seletar Expressway/Woodlands Avenue 12 to the new line's Springleaf Station.
