Jailed for hitting cyclist with bicycle chain

An unemployed man was jailed for nine weeks and fined a total of $5,000 on Friday for assaulting a cyclist with a bicycle chain, and for two other offences.
David Heng Aik Seng admitted to causing hurt to business consultant Ricky Ho Hock Poh, 52, by striking his head, arms and body with the chain along Changi Coast Park Connector on May 11 this year.
The 39-year-old was fined $2,000 for criminial intimidation and $3,000 for causing hurt to another cyclist by doing a rash act.
A Community Court heard that Mr Ho and two friends were cycling along Changi Coast Park Connector that day when Mr Ho heard his friend call out to him. He saw that his friend had fallen off his bicycle and approached Heng as he believed that the latter had pushed his friend.
