Investor jailed after gambling away $92,500 of partner's money

THEY were planning to buy a shophouse in Little India as an investment and Ms Liu Guiling handed over $92,500 to her partner on April 1 last year.

Tan Kah Hock was to deposit the money in their joint account in Standard Chartered Bank with his share to initiate purchase of the $1.5 million unit.

He gambled it all away at the Resorts World Sentosa Casino that very day.

Tan, 62, was jailed a year and seven months on Wednesday.
