The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) nabbed 25 tobacco retailers this year for illegally selling cigarettes to underage youth.

Three tobacco licences were revoked while another 22 have been suspended for six months.

From Wednesday, Eng Kee Chye Huat at Marsiling Lane, will not be allowed to sell tobacco products and the errant seller was also fined $2,000. He was caught by HSA inspectors for blatantly selling cigarettes to a 16-year-old youth in school uniform in January this year.

Anyone caught selling tobacco products to persons below the age of 18 can be fined up to $5,000 for the first offence and up to $10,000 for subsequent offences.
