The Health Sciences Authority issued a public advisory on Monday to stop the consumption of libido booster "VIA.X For Men".
Samples of the product, which claims to use only natural ingredients, were tested by HSA and found to be adulterated, containing the undeclared potent ingredients sildenafil and propoxyphenyl sildenafil.
The product's local distributor, Nature's Farm, has recalled the product from shelves.
Sildenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction and can be found in drugs such as Viagra. Usage without prescription and close supervision can result in adverse reactions such as decreased or loss of vision and hearing, low blood pressure, and other cardiovascular irregularities such as stroke and myocardial infarction.
