An annual anti-terror exercise by the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force took place on Monday morning.

Codenamed Exercise Heartbeat saw terrorist scenarios being played out including a vehicle explosion at Plaza Singapura, a shooting rampage at Biopolis, as well as a suicide bomber attack at the Singapore Land Tower.

Into its fifth year, this is the first time that the Central Police Division, Clementi Police Division, and Tanglin Police Division, have collaborated during the exercise. Previously, divisions would operate separately for the different scenarios.

This year's exercise also had 12 Safety and Security Watch Group buildings taking part, including Concorde Hotel Singapore and the Maybank Tower.
