Healthy meals now available at Marine Terrace Food Centre
Twenty-two of the 24 tenants in Marine Terrace Food Centre are now selling healthier food.
A ceremony was held on Sunday to mark the food centre's inclusion as part of the Health Promotion Board's (HPB) Healthier Hawker initiative.
The HPB works with stallholders to substitute ingredients with alternatives such as oil with less saturated fat, low-sodium salt and wholegrain noodles.
The board's chief executive Ang Hak Seng said about 80 per cent of residents aged 60 and older in the Marine Parade constituency have at least one chronic disease such as high blood pressure.
