Gravity-defying COEs set two new records

Except for motorcycle premium, certificates of entitlement (COE) finished higher at Wednesday's tender, with two hitting new highs.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc ended at $77,291, slightly above the previous record of $77,201. COE for cars above 1,600cc closed at $93,004, up from $92,400 two weeks ago.
Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for bigger cars, ended at $93,990, up from $92,100.
Commercial vehicle premium rose from $59,111 to reach a new high of $60,235.
