Girl Guides learn to give tours at Gardens by the Bay

A new education programme has been put in place at Gardens by the Bay to encourage youngsters to explore nature.

Under the GB Ambassadors initiative, students who are Girl Guides or Brownies learn to give guided tours at the Marina Bay attraction.

Some 50 students from five secondary schools have been trained to lead groups along two new nature trails.

The secondary schools are Bedok South, Cedar Girls', Changkat Changi, Jurong and Yishun Town.

President of Girl Guides Singapore Joy Balakrishnan said the partnership is an important and strategic one, as it allows the girls to "have access to the Gardens for learning beyond school".
