Getai goes high-tech for this year's Hungry Ghost Festival
Organisers adopt use of LED panels, lighting effects to draw crowds

As heartland crowds are spoilt for getai choices during the Hungry Ghost Festival, organisers and artistes have had to pull out new tricks to draw audiences this year.
One innovation is the use of LED panels on stage. While these are common in concerts and clubs, it is the first time these giant screens will be used extensively in the getai arena.
Said getai organiser Aaron Tan: "It is still the same Hungry Ghost Festival and getai is still a culture-rich show, but we want to make the entire show look more trendy."
