Five males aged between 18 and 41 were arrested on Wednesday in connection with an attack on a group of Korean patrons outside Hotel Rendezvous, along Bras Basah Road last Friday.

The men were arrested for a case of rioting armed with a deadly weapon, following extensive investigations by officers from the Central Police Division. The police had received a call about the fight at about 4.43am that morning.

According to media reports, a group of six Korean men were set upon by a group of about 10 men after they left Club Password in Hotel Rendezvous, following an argument. The assailants attacked the victims with metal poles and beer mugs, reported Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News.

The commander of Central Police Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police Daniel Tan, advised the offenders who are still on the run to come forward to assist in police investigations. The police takes a serious view of such offences and will spare no effort in tracking down the perpetrators, he added.
