Fire in lift shaft of Buangkok block

A fire broke out in the lift shaft of a Housing Board block on Saturday night.

But no one was injured and the blaze was put out within four minutes.

The lift machinery of one of the two lifts, located at the top floor of Block 986B Buangkok Crescent, caught fire after 9pm on Saturday.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force despatched two fire engines and an ambulance to the scene.
