Fined for using cousin's IC to get into casino

An interior designer was fined a total of $3,400 on Tuesday for unlawfully using his cousin's identity card to get into a casino and not paying the entry levy.

Roy Ngai Chan Yam, 38, did not use his own identity card as he was on self-exclusion which he had applied online in November last year.

The court heard that he entered the Resorts World Sentosa casino on Jan 24 using the identity card of his cousin, Mr Wang Yee Wei, 39.

At about 4.15am the next day, he was at the cashier's to cash out his winnings when the cashier discovered that he was barred from entering the casino.
