Ferrari going at 178kmh when it hit taxi in fatal crash

THE driver of the Ferrari involved in a horrific crash at the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street on May 12 was speeding at 178kmh when it beat a red light and smashed into a ComfortDelGro taxi.

The Ferrari's driver, Mr Ma Chi, 30, died immediately, while cabby Cheng Teck Hock, 52, and his Japanese passenger, Ms Shigemi Ito, 41, a National University of Singapore student, died in hospital.

A motorcyclist and a female passenger in the Ferrari were also injured.

Three videos were shown today at the coroner's inquiry into the deaths.
