Expansion plans for NTU to be ready by 2016

Universities need to go beyond the rankings and understand what schooling means for students in a knowledge-based and connected environment, said Education Minister Heng Swee Keat on Friday.
"Each university must strive to provide a high quality of education and university experience to its students, who spend their formative years in its campus," he said.
One way is to redesign learning spaces to those that emphasise small group interactions, active problem solving and collaborative learning, said Mr Heng.
He was speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Nanyang Technological University's campus master plan, which will transform the varsity grounds into a "mini city".
