Ex-CNB officer jailed for taking $7,100 seized from drug suspects

Muhammad Nur Wagiyoh, 30, was today jailed for 13 months for misappropriating $7,123.
He committed the offences in 2009 and 2010 when he was a senior investigation officer with the Central Narcotics Bureau. His duties then included handling cash and other items seized from suspects.
While he would return the other exhibits, he would keep the cash, telling them they would get it later. He did this for five different cases he was assigned to investigate.
In September 2010, police received information from CNB that cash handled by Muhammad Nur was unaccounted for. Investigations then revealed that he had spent the money on personal expenses. He has since repaid the full amount.
