Eight private estates chosen for Estate Upgrading Programme, $29m upgrades

THE government is pumping in $29 million over the next two years to spruce up eight private estates around the island.

More than 7,000 households are expected to benefit from the upgrading works which includes landscaping, more fitness equipment and wider footpaths, said the Ministry of National Development on Wednesday.

The private estates are Goldhill, Mayflower Gardens and Yio Chu Kang Gardens, Cashew and Hazel Park Terrace, Greenleaf, Bartley neighbourhood, Carmichael, Haig Road and Limau.

They were chosen to undergo the Estate Upgrading Programme (EUP) due to their age as well as potential for improvement.
