Eight arrested for shoplifting toiletries and cosmetics

Eight people have been arrested for shoplifting items such as toiletries and cosmetics at a shopping mall along Syed Alwi Road last weekend.
The suspects-four men and four women- aged from 28 to 62, had concealed the unpaid items in bags that they brought along with them.
The stolen items were worth a total of $805, with the cost of each item ranging from $3.50 to $129.
The thefts were committed despite robust measures that have been put in place by the shopping centre to deter such behaviour. For example, retailers have installed transparent retail shelves and ceiling mirrors to reduce the number of blind spots.
