Dumex says milk formula products are safe following Fonterra scare
Infant formula producer Danone Dumex has gotten the all-clear once again, after a contamination scare caused them to recall several tins earlier this month as a precaution.
The company had recalled several batches of its MamilGold PreciNutri Step 2, Dupro Step 2 and Dulac Step 1 infant formulas.
Kiwi-based food giant Fonterra came under fire this month, after it announced potential contamination in three batches of whey protein. The protein had been shipped out to customers in eight countries.
On Wednesday, New Zealand's Ministry of Primary Industries stated that the recall was a false alarm as the protein did not contain Clostridium botulinum, the bacteria that can cause paralysis.
