A piece of heavy construction machinery toppled over at a worksite in Tanjong Pagar on Tuesday evening.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident at about 7.10pm. The Straits Times understands that one worker was operating what is believed to be a crane when it toppled to its side. An SCDF spokesman said that no one was injured.

The site, located between Robinson Road and Cecil Street, is where Far East Organization is constructing the 31-storey SBF Center, a new development that will comprise offices, medical suites, and food and beverage outlets. Workers there told The Straits Times that they were instructed not to divulge any details about the incident.

Engineer Ms Kerry Devlin, 27, was watching TV in her 34th floor residential unit across Cecil Street when she heard a loud crash.
