Couple on vice charges remanded with more offences

A couple who were charged a week ago with vice offences were charged with more offences on Friday.

Govindaraju Sivakumar, 39, who runs a club, and his Filipino wife, Sharon Trinidad Lorenzo, 31, now face 20 charges and four charges respectively under the Women's Charter.

Sivakumar is accused of 16 charges of living on the immoral earnings of Filipino prostitutes and four of receiving Filipino nationals into Singapore for the purpose of prostitution.

Lorenzo, a housewife, allegedly received the four prostitutes, twice each with her husband and with a 32-year-old Filipina, in September and November this year.
