SOME eight in 10 customers were happy with the services provided by their real estate agent, so much so that most even recommended their agents to others.

This was the result of the first Public Perception Survey conducted by industry watchdog the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA).

The agency had polled 2,260 consumers earlier this year. According to survey findings, seven in 10 recommended their agents to others, and consumers were more pleased when it came to resale transactions (87 per cent) compared to rental transactions (75 per cent).

Writing on his blog on Monday, National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan said the findings prove that CEA has "fared not too badly", even as it comes into its second year.
