Cooking contest aims to promote family and community bonding
Ten teams came together yesterday to whip up home-cooked dishes in a cooking contest organised by condiments company Lee Kum Kee.
Held at Toa Payoh Central Community Club, the "Singapore Top 10 Home-cooked Dishes Challenge" aims to promote family and community bonding through cooking and eating together.
The ten pairs of finalists, representing different constituencies, received $300 cash and are going on an all-expense paid gourment trip to Malaysia in September.
Contestants Madam Teoh Gaik Hwan, 44, and her friend, Madam Catherine Chew, 41, won the judges' over with their spicy squid dish. They walked away with an additional $1,000 cash.
