Contractors, consultants lauded by HDB for good design, build quality

The Housing Board has recognised the work of consultants and contractors in its latest nod to good design and construction quality.

These awards are meant to "affirm the efforts of industry partners in working together with HDB to provide quality public housing for Singaporeans", said the agency on Tuesday.

Besides being the largest housing developer in Singapore building more than a million homes, HDB also takes an active role in planning housing estates, it said. As a result, award winners are those that have produced outstanding work within the guidelines set out.

A mixed development at Clementi Town Centre and Skyline - an upcoming Build-to-Order (BTO) project at Bukit Batok, were some of the winners for design.
