CERTIFICATE of entitlement (COE) prices ended higher across the board at the latest tender Wednesday despite a slightly bigger supply of certificates.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc rose from $73,989 to close at $75,556 - its highest level since car-cooling measures were introduced six months ago.
COE for cars above 1,600cc finished at $77,600, up from $76,389. Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for cars, ended at $77,989, up from $76,802.
Commercial COE climbed from $65,036 to close at $68,251, setting another record high. Motorcycle premium finished at $1,792, up from $1,712.
Motor traders said increased competition among the premium brands fuelled the rise in prices.
