CNB nabs three men and seizes 1.63kg of heroin and 90g of Ice during arrest
Three men have been arrested over the seizure of 1.63kg of heroin and 90g of "Ice", estimated to be worth over $185,000, on Thursday night. More than $20,000 cash were also seized in the operation, said the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Friday.
At about 9.25pm on Feb 6, CNB officers had observed the meeting of two of the suspects in the vicinity of Choa Chu Kang Way. The officers followed both suspects - a 42-year-old Singaporean and a 41-year-old Malaysian - separately after they parted ways.
The Singaporean who had driven off in a car, was arrested when he stopped his car at a traffic junction in the vicinity of Choa Chu Kang Drive. A plastic bag containing about 1.4kg of heroin was found at the front passenger seat of the car. Another 230g of heroin was later seized from suspect's hideout in Choa Chu Kang. Fifteen minutes later, the Malaysian who had driven off in a bus, was seen picking up the third suspect - a 25-year-old Singaporean - along Teck Whye Crescent.
When the third suspect alighted from the bus, he was arrested by CNB officers, who had seen him trying to discard a plastic package which was later found to contain 90g of "Ice". A weighing scale and various drug paraphernalia were later found at the suspect's residence at Woodlands Circle. At about 10.10pm, the Malaysian was arrested after he had stopped the bus along Lentor Avenue.
