THE foam seen around parts of Choa Chu Kang early Tuesday morning was likely to have been the product of detergent,  said a spokesman from national water agency PUB on Tuesday evening.

Aside from pallets of wood, stacks of metal and food products, about 70 barrels of detergent-based concentrate were also stored in the warehouse at Upper Bukit Timah Road, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in an update at about 6.30pm.

On Monday night, a fire had broken out at the single-storey warehouse.

In the two hours it took to bring it under control, the blaze also damaged about 40 barrels of the detergent, causing it to flow to the surrounding area said an SCDF spokesman.
