Children's Society award recognises big donors
The Singapore Children's Society has launched a new award to recognise those who donate $5 million or raise $10 million.
Named after its former chairman, the Koh Eng Kheng Eminent Benefactor Award is given to an individual, group or organisation.
Yesterday, OCBC Bank became the first recipient, having pledged to donate $5 million over 10 years from 2004.
"No child should be deprived of the opportunity to succeed," said the bank's head of group corporate communications Koh Ching Ching of its long-term relationship with the society.
