Changi extends $4.5m aid package to air cargo sector

More aid is being extended to Changi's frail air cargo sector.

Between January and June, operators of cargo flights will pay half the usual landing fees, Changi Airport Group said on Wednesday.

The total $4.5 million cost to be incurred is on top of a $15 million aid package announced by the airport in March.

While passenger air traffic has continued to grow, albeit at a slower pace, the air cargo sector has been facing downward pressure due to falling yields and the high cost of fuel, Changi said.
