Canberra Park to undergo $2 million upgrade
Canberra Park will receive a $2 million boost to transform it into a recreation and community hub by next year.
The park is part of plans to enhance sporting facilities in the North. An integrated sporting complex featuring a stadium, swimming pool, hawker centre and library is also on the cards. It is likely to be sited next to Sembawang MRT station, said MP for Nee Soon GRC Lim Wee Kiak on Sunday morning as he launched the groundbreaking ceremony of the new park.
The upgraded park is specially designed to be inclusive, said Dr Lim.
When ready, its playground will not only have the largest swing system in Singapore but also feature swings that persons with disabilities will be able to use.
