Call for feedback on proposed changes to stamp duties

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) is conducting a public consultation on proposed changes to stamp duties.

The exercise, which began on Thursday and runs until Oct 10, is gathering feedback on proposed changes to stamp duties on mergers and acquisitions.

The proposals were raised during the Budget debate in February, and involve extending stamp duty relief to acquisitions involving multiple entities.

The MOF is also making minor tweaks to the stamp duties regime, including extending the appeal deadline to 30 days from 21 days.
