Health professionals will now be at the doorstep of residents in the Hong Kah North neighbourhood, as Singapore's first Healthy Lifestyle Centre was launched on the morning of Dec 9.

Located within the Hong Kah North Zone 6 Residents' Committee's premises, the centre will provide customised health programmes and services to residents who have been identified to have a higher risk of chronic conditions.

Health professionals from the Health Promotion Board will be at the RC from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays to assist residents in areas such as physical activity, nutrition and mental well-being. They will also provide referrals and facilitate follow-ups for residents who may require them.

Dr Amy Khor, mayor for the South-West district, was guest of honour at the centre's launch, which was also attended by Health Promotion Board chief executive Ang Hak Seng.
