Born between June 5 and Sept 11, 1995? National Service beckons

Registration for National Service for male Singaporean and permanent residents born between June 5 and Sep 11 in 1995 will be conducted next week. -- ST PHOTO : NURIA LING

REGISTRATION for National Service for male Singaporean and permanent residents born between June 5 and Sept 11 in 1995 will be conducted next week.

Those registering can do so online at www.ns.sg or personally at the Central Manpower Base (CMPB) Podium at 3 Depot Road.

The registration period is from Dec 26 to Jan 16.

If the registration is done at CMPB, the following documents must be produced:

1. Identity card or birth certificate;

2. education certificates;

3. citizenship certificates (if any); and

4. other documents as specified in the Registration Notice

A registrant can apply - online or personally - for the postponement of his liability to report for enlistment in order to complete his studies in Singapore.

Any registrant who does not meet the postponement criteria, or is not successful in his application for postponement, must:

a. During registration, appoint a date between Feb 15 2013 and March 8 next year for his medical screening; and

b. go for his medical screening at CMPB on the appointed date between 8am and 1.30pm.
