A former marketing executive was jailed for two weeks on Monday for failing to report the death of a management trainee whose body was later found stuffed in a trolley bag floating off Sentosa.

Pee Weai Hong, 33, is the first person to be convicted under the Coroners Act for not reporting the death of Mr Dylan Wong Teck Siong, 28, being a reportable death, after he came to know of it in 2011.

It was almost two weeks later, on April 16, that the body was found. By then it was decomposed and the pathologist could not ascertain the cause of death.

Pee's lover, Teo Boon Leng, 44, was initially implicated with Mr Wong's death but he was given a discharge. He is facing charges related to the death and his case is pending.
