Is she pregnant, or is she not? Speculation is rife about whether the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby, after she declined alcohol at the state dinner on Tuesday night.

The rumours intensified after Prince William, in Singapore with his wife Catherine as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee tour, revealed to a well-wisher on Wednesday that he wanted to have two children.

According to online reports by tabloids and gossip magazines, the Duchess twice turned down wine - choosing water instead - when toasts were made to the Queen at Tuesday's state banquet hosted by President Tony Tan Keng Yam.

As if that was not enough, Prince William unhesitatingly answered "two", when asked by a well-wisher at Gardens by the Bay how many children he wanted.

We are told not to read anything into Kate toasting in water at state banquet. That said, the Duchess does like the odd drink.
