Five "jumpstart awards" of up to $20,000 are being offered to teams who come up with ideas to improve the lives of disabled people.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and SG Enable, an agency which provides services for people with disabilities, is to hold an inaugural two-day workshop next month during which students, social entrepreneurs and designers can develop their ideas.

The Enabling Community CoLab will take place at Scape, at Orchard Link, on April 5 and 6, after which up to ten teams will get a "spur award" from a pool of $15,000 to help them prepare for the final round on May 5.

Up to five ideas will be selected for the winning grants to help them turn their ideas into reality, with the assistance of social enterprises and community partners.
