Australia's Northern Territory, known for its nature parks Ayers Rock and Kakadu, wants more Singaporeans to visit to boost its tourism industry.

The northern state has set a target of attracting 30 per cent more Singaporeans, up from last year's 6,000. In total, more than 300,000 Singaporeans visited Australia last year.

Its tourism minister, Mr Matt Conlan, led a team of attraction operators to Singapore on Tuesday to meet outbound travel agents and airlines.

New promotional packages to the Australian state will also be launched at the Natas travel fair in February.
