Association of Muslim Professionals' youth wing appoints new president

The youth wing of the Association of Muslim Professionals(AMP) has appointed Mr Muhd Shamir Abdul Rahim, 31, a managing director of an IT solutions firm, as its president.

He succeeds Mr Saktiandi Supaat, 40, head of foreign exchange research at Maybank, the self-help group said in a press statement on Thursday.

Mr Saktiandi was Young AMP's president for three years and has been involved with the organisation for a decade.

In a statement to the media, he said: "It has been a wonderful and humbling experience and I have learned a lot from my interactions with fellow volunteers and staff in our effort to uplift the community.
