Annual bilateral military exercise between S'pore and Thai armies ends

The Singapore Army and Royal Thai Army (RTA) concluded an annual bilateral exercise on Tuesday, underscoring longstanding defence ties between both countries.

Dubbed Kocha Singa, the joint exercise was the 16th in the series and was held in Thailand from March 2 till Tuesday. It included professional sharing of knowledge on weapons systems, urban operations training and a combined field exercise, said Singapore's Ministry of Defence in a statement.

The exercise, involved more than 800 personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces' 1st Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment and the RTA's 1st Infantry Battalion from the 2nd Infantry Regiment.

Tuesday's closing ceremony was officiated by Singapore's commander of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, Brigadier-General (BG) Lim Hock Yu, and RTA Deputy Commander-in-Chief General (GEN) Udomdej Sitabutr in Trang.
