For some animal lovers, amateur snapshots of their pets are not much of a howling success. Instead, these doting dog-lovers and feline fanatics are forking out anything from several hundreds of dollars to thousands, for professional photographers to capture their pets in perfect poses.

A check of five photography companies by Life! found that demand for pet portraits has risen compared to two years ago.

Pet photography clients have increased by about 20 per cent for photography company Picatso Photographs and Pet Loft, which provides grooming and photography services.

Demand has also doubled and tripled at photography companies DeDamselfly Photography and White Room Studio respectively compared to two years ago.
