Air quality improved on Saturday afternoon, with the Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) dropping back to the 'good' range after 1pm, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said.
At 4pm, the PSI range for the whole of Singapore was 36-46, with the highest levels recorded in the north and east. A PSI value below 50 is considered good.
Earlier in the morning, a thin haze blanketed the island and air quality in Singapore fell to the 'moderate' range, when the PSI reading at 8am ranged between 52-59.
The NEA advises those with heart or lung disease, as well as children and older adults, to cut down on continuous, lengthy or heavy exertion outdoors. All others are advised to limit any continuous, lengthy or heavy exertion.
