Around 800,000 Singaporean households living in Housing Board flats will get about $80 million in service and conservancy charges (S&CC) rebates this year, with the first tranche of the rebates being disbursed this month.
The total rebate for the year ranges from a sum covering one month for those living in executive flats, to that of three months for those living in one- and two-room flats. Eligible households will receive letters this month with more details.
Announced in Budget 2014, these rebates are meant to help households cope with increases in the cost of living, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Tuesday.
They will be disbursed in April, July and October this year, and will directly offset a household's S&CC payment.
