60 Singaporeans kick off 1st Citizen Dialogue
The first citizen dialogue of the Singapore Conversation kicked off on Saturday morning at the National Library on Victoria Street.
In a room overlooking the Marina Bay skyline, 60 participants - from taxi drivers to top lawyers, business owners to social activists - huddled in six small groups to think up the Singapore they hope to see in a decade.
There was an informal vibe to the loosely structured four-hour session, designed to allow a free-flowing exchange between the participants.
This even as Education Minister Heng Swee Keat and Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin, hovered around listening in, most of the time barely noticed by the participants who were in the midst of intense discussions among themselves.
