5 men who posed as cops in gang robbery face more charges

The five men who allegedly committed gang robbery in Little India with some posing as police officers, were charged with more offences on Friday.

With the additional charges, the amount of money they were said to have taken came up to $1.27 million.

Mohamed Faizal Ajmalhan, 29, taxi driver Mohammad Ansari Abdul Hussain, 33, and music teacher Magesan Ramasamy, 33, each face seven more charges while construction workers Arunachalam Lakshmanan, 34, and Chinnaya Antony Samy, 35, face three charges each.

Last week, the five were accused of robbing Indian national businessman Antony Savarimuthu of $300,000 at a shophouse in Dunlop Street on Sept 10.
