5 injured after car reverses onto Chong Pang market walkway
Five people were injured on Monday morning when a car reversed onto a crowded pedestrian walkway at Chong Pang market.
The driver of a blue Mercedes reportedly lost control while reversing his car at a car park at Block 102 Yishun Avenue 5.
Before mounting the pavement, the Mercedes hit a white Toyota Camry. The vehicle stopped only after it hit a lamppost 25m into the walkway.
A Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesman said three ambulances were dispatched after it received a call about the incident at 8:16am. Officers attended to those injured on the spot.
