5 charged with Little India gang robbery

Five men were charged in a district court on Friday with the Dunlop Street gang robbery.

Mohamed Faizal Ajmalhan, 29, Indian national construction workers Arunachalam Lakshmanan, 34, Chinnaya Antony Samy, 35, Singaporean taxi driver Mohammad Ansari Abdul Hussain, 33, and music teacher Magesan Ramasamy, 33, are alleged to have robbed businessman Antony Savarimuthu of $300,000 at Dunlop Street on Monday.

No plea was taken.

Except for Magesan who was represented by Mr Sunil Sudheesan and Ms Diana Ngiam, the rest were unrepresented.
