236 nabbed in joint enforcement blitz, more than half arrested for illegal employment
Over 200 people were arrested for illegal activities in a six-day joint enforcement blitz that started last Tuesday.
Checks were conducted on illegal massage parlours in Jalan Besar and public entertainment outlets in areas like Beach Road and Marina Bay. Roadblocks were also set up to nab drink drivers.
More than half of those arrested were found to have committed employment offences. Ten outlets were also found to have contravened public entertainment licensing conditions.
The operation was led by the Central Police Division and involved officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Traffic Police, Special Operations Command, Central Narcotics Bureau, and Singapore Civil Defence Force.
