23 suspects arrested for criminal and drug offences in 17-hour joint enforcement blitz

A 17-hour joint operation involving three enforcement agencies on Thursday led to 23 people being arrested for various criminal and drug-related offences.

Drugs including about 30g of cannabis and a small amount of ice and heroin were seized, as well as 41 packets of contraband cigarettes, said the Singapore Police Force, Central Narcotics Bureau and Singapore Customs in a joint statement on Friday. Investigations against the subjects are ongoing.

The operation started at 7am on Thursday. Checks were conducted in Yishun, Sengkang, Punggol, Ang Mo Kio and Sembawang.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Keok Tong San, the Commander of Ang Mo Kio Police Division which led the operation, said: "The Police and our enforcement counterparts will continue to work closely to eradicate criminal activities and keep our streets safe."
